My husband and I are leaving tomorrow morning to go to the Masters in Augusta -I'm so excited. I've never been to a professional golf tournament before, so it should be pretty cool. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous on Saturday and Sunday and all the azaleas should be in bloom.
The tricky part is that according to my schedule, I'm supposed to keep taking my lupron but also add in the estrogen shots and insert the estring - whatever the heck that is (I'm still not really sure what it is or what I'm supposed to do with it - guess I'll figure that one out when the time comes)- on Friday. However, there is an asterisk next to it that says not to start until instructed. Evidently, I will be starting these new meds at the same time that my donor starts her stims - how exciting!! Normally, this wouldn't be any big deal. I'd just wait for the phone call. But I'm slightly concerned because we are going to on a plane on Friday - no cell phone then. Then all day Saturday and all day Sunday when we are at the golf tournament, I won't have access to my phone - spectators are strictly prohibited from bringing in cell phones. So, I'm packing up all my meds and needles and alcohol wipes etc and I've left a message with the nurse telling her to please leave a message on my cell phone when the time comes for me to start taking the extra shots. Hopefully, it will all work out. And I'm sure people travel with meds and needles all the time - but it just makes me a little nervous having them in my luggage - silly, I know, but it does!
My only other concern is that I'm not sure how the donor gets her meds from the pharmacy. Usally, the pharmacy calls me and gets payment before they ship out my meds. Since I am paying for hers, is the pharmacy going to be calling me or does the doctor's office handle it all and I reimburse them? I really have no idea. I just don't want to be out on the golf course all day with the pharmacy trying to call me for payment and end up holding up my donor. Another question I'll need to ask the nurse before we leave.
So, a little confusion - but I'm so happy to be getting out of town for a few days!

Sounds like a great vacation- just what you need before the big transfer!
My insurance sent ALL the drugs for myself and my donor to the Drs office, and I paid for everything via phone. This is because of my stupid insurance, you probably will have yours sent to your home and the donors sent to the clinic.
And probably they will call for payment at horrible hours, you might want to be pro-active and call ahead. But ask your nurse, your clinic may handle everything and you just pay them. It is so confusing!
Hope all goes well and the donor gets stimming soon!
