This morning while getting ready for work, my husband had the TV on. They were talking about the couple who had the wrong embryos "implanted" (eye roll) in them and are now pregnant with another couple's child. To discuss the issue they brought on an "expert" - a doctor who will no longer perform IVFs because he said there are too many risks involved. Get real - he said that IVF is not worth the money and all the drugs that the woman must take because there are so many less invasive procedures that work just as well. He went on to say that he treats his patients with antibiotics, herbs and acupuncture and it works as well as IVF. Stupid me - I can't believe I've been spending all this money on IVF when all I needed to do was to take some antibiotics and herbs and have a few acupuncture sessions (which I have). This so-called expert was a complete moron - we had to turn the channel but I wonder how many people actually saw this and believed what this idiot was saying.
Then I get to work and the first story that pops up on my computer is one about an expectant mom getting pregnant while she's already pregnant - give me a break. I can't even get pregnant once and now we have a pregnant woman getting pregnant again while still pregnant - enough news for one day!

I read an similar article that extensively quoted this "expert" yesterday and it made my blood boil. It's pretty obvious he's NOT infertile and probably also tells people to "just" adopt when the herbs don't work. Give me a fucking break and a little credit. Who the hell jumps right to IVF without giving it A LOT of thought? Like I need someone else making decisions for ME! Sorry to vent in your blog, but I was so pissed off yesterday when I read about this.
