Retrieval should be this week

Well, I survived Thanksgiving. We hosted my in-laws at my house - they arrived Tuesday and left on Sunday. It was great seeing them all, but I was definitely ready to see them go. Thanksgiving dinner turned out beautifully. I cooked my first fresh, organic turkey and it was fabulous! So much better than the frozen ones I've bought in the past. I ate WAY too much food and drank WAY too much wine - considering that retrieval will probably be this week and transfer early next week. I'm trying to get back on track today - no more alcohol, no more caffeine, healthy eating and EXERCISE to see if I can drop the extra Thanksgiving weight - even a pound or two by the end of the week would be great.

So I went in this past Friday and my E2 levels were good and my lining looked great, so I think I'm all set. I didn't even ask how my donor is doing. I'm just going with the flow, but I'm hoping she is responding well. I may have to actually call this week to find out for sure. Right now, retrieval is scheduled for Thursday. I called the sperm bank today and they are shipping my vial of sperm today - it will be in my doctor's hands by 5:00 on Wednesday, so I guess we are set. If all goes well, transfer should be sometime around Sunday - Tuesday. It is so weird how this time neither me or DH have much of a role in all this. He doesn't even have to show up on retrieval day.

My last lupron shot should be this Tuesday - thank God! My belly is covered in bruises. I have been on lupron since Oct. 28 - more than a full month of injections in the belly, thanks to the delay with my donor. I'm ready for the PIO in the bum - bring it on! Hope it's for a full 12 weeks this time.....ok, now that I type that, 12 weeks of PIO shots scares the heck out of me, but it will be so worth it.
