On a more exciting note, I planted my first ever garden back at the beginning of May. I wasn't sure if I was the gardening type or not, so I decided to start small with a container garden on the deck. I planted tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and basil, and I'm happy to say all except the peppers are doing amazing. We ate our very first fresh-picked zucchini last night (it was wonderful!) - I was so excited because I actually planted the zucchini from seeds. To see it go from seeds in a seed packet to a huge thriving plant producing vegetables that I can actually eat was really cool.
The crazy thing about the zucchini plant, though, is how fast it goes from just flowers to vegetable. I mean I checked on it in the morning - no zucchinis, but then when I got home from work I swear it looked like it had an erection - from out of nowhere a six inch zucchini was protruding from the side of my pot - crazy.I'm a little worried that I'm going to be overrun with zucchinis in the near future based on the number of blooms I have on my plant. I need to start looking for some good, creative recipes. I was actually dreaming about zucchinis last night - it was driving me nuts - one of those dreams that just goes on and on and you can't make it stop no matter how many times you wake up! Crazy!

I think it's so cool that you grew something!
I wouldn't worry about taking your shot an hour and a half late. My nurse told me as long as I was within three hours or so every night, it'd be just fine.
Love the zucchini dream. You know the old joke - "Why in the world would you lock your car in Utah? So all your Mormon neighbors won't give you all their left-over zucchini." It'd be funny if it weren't actually true... It is an amazing plant. have fun with the recipe search!
