14 eggs, 11 fertilized

I apologize for being late with the update, but I've been in a training session all day at work the past two days and then last night went out went some girlfriends, so I haven't been near a computer for days.

They were able to retrieve 14 eggs from my donor - it's not as many as a lot of you got, but I was actually quite pleased. The most they ever got from me was 5 and they were crappy, so if we got 14 good quality eggs - I'm very happy. Really, all I need is one or two good ones.

I got the fert report today. He said out of the 14, 11 fertilized naturally and were looking "really good." So that's good news. He is going to call back tomorrow to let us know how they are dividing. I hope things continue to go well. Depending on how things look, transfer will either be Sunday or Tuesday - really hoping for a Tuesday transfer.

The PIO shots are already making my butt sore. If this actually works, I don't know how I'll handle this for 12 weeks. I actually had to give it to myself last night - my husband was late getting home and I had to leave to meet my friends so I sucked it up and did it myself. I wasn't that bad, but the big needle did freak me out a bit when it actually came time to stab myself with it. The size is just so much bigger than the needles I'm used to working with. I'm glad I was able to do it though. It was good practice because my husband has to go out of town for work in two weeks.

Anyway, so far, so good. Hopefully it will continue that way.

WOOHOOO! 14 is awesome! Here's hoping that you have to inject yourself for the next 12 weeks!

I know giving them to yourself sucks because they're just so intimidating looking, but if it's any comfort, I think they hurt less than when my husband administers (though I'd never ever tell him that!)

So excited for you! Hope lots make it and you've got a few picture perfect fellas to transfer in a few days!

So exciting!

Your doctor should have quite a selection with 11 fertilized eggs! Awesome. I'm so happy and excited for you. Can't wait for your transfer! And you are a superstar in my book for being able to give yourself the PIO!

Great news!

I have to admit, I'm not doing PIO (My clinic switched their protocol to Cinone Gel), and I am happy to not have to do any shots.

Exciting days ahead for you!!

Your donor did FANTASTIC! 11 fertilized eggs is really really really wonderful. Wow! I predict a Day 5 transfer for sure and I KNOW you'll get a BFP!

As for the PIO, you will get used to it, that's the important thing to know. I don't even freeze the spot anymore - just go in and inject. I'm sore and I've hit a vein a couple of times which really smarts but, like everything else, you WILL do it just fine and for quite a few weeks until the placenta takes over.
