I went to the doctor this morning for b/w and u/s. The good news is that my lining looks good - it was 8.5 and halo - considering that I still have a week to go, I'm happy with this. Unfortunately, I did not get any details on my donor. When the nurse came in the room to do the ultrasound, I asked right away how my donor was doing. She responded: "She's doing well, we just want to keep her that way. Now, let's take a look and see how YOU are doing." Those were her exact words.
Hmmm....I don't know what to think about that comment. I know I'm over-analyzing, but was that just a standard response because she didn't have my donor's file in front of her and she had already seen who knows how many women this morning, and she really didn't know the answer to my question and just said - oh, she's good. Or...does she know all the details about my donor and is concerned that things may not continue to go well for some reason that she did not share with me? I don't know what to make of it.
I think for now, I'm going to try not to obsess about it and just wait until tomorrow or Monday and call her and ask for the details when she has time to pull the chart and can give me more specifics. Ugghhh....I can't believe all the worry is already starting to settle in so soon. But, for now, I guess I should be happy because at least things are good on my side, I just really, really hope things are going well for my donor - I hate not knowing!

I'm with you! I perfected the art of asking just the right question to get all the information I wanted doing the IVF's this year. With the DE cycle I shall either decide to know nothing (yeah right) or let them know what info I want to get and when.
Pushy moi?
Congrats on your lining and halo!
Probably a stock answer.
It killed me to do so, but I pushed and once I asked they were more than happy to practically tell me anything I needed to know.
In retrospect, I might have saved myself a heart attack by staying in the dark. Look what happened to me! lol
Congrats on the lining! One major hurdle cleared!
Great lining! Okay, so you're ready to go and are left wondering about your donor. I agree that the nurse probably didn't know the answer off the top of her head. But I would definitely call them and ask them to provide you with a specific update on your donor. Sometimes you really have to be a little pushy and demanding. And don't be the least bit apologetic about it. You need to know information and you have a right to know. Especially this close to ER and ET. (but that's just my pushy opinion).
Your lining is great but what the heck is a halo?
As for her comment, a little cryptic but I over analyze EVERYTHING to my detriment. Truth is, she probably meant nothing but "everything's great and we're going to keep it that way" but she's forgotten that patients listen to every single syllable and later think about it and dream about it (otherwise, she'd learn to say "great" and leave it at that).
However, you have a right to know specifics about your donor - I certainly asked. The most I got was X number of follicles on left and X number on right but at least it made me feel more included in the process.
Actually I'm not sure how much you ARE allowed (legally) to know about the donor. If she is anonymous there are privacy laws until the eggs are retrieved. (at least I think so - I am no lawyer! this is what my clinic has told me)
So I got very sketchy information (she's good; there is a cyst; she is nice and doing well kind of thing) for both my donors. I believe different states have different rules, and possibly different clinics have their own policies too.
So! Don't sweat it - if they say she's fine I'd just go with that and hope for the best. If something were wrong they would tell you. Good luck!
Your lining sounds great, right on track, way to go!
As far as the donor, it sounds like the nurse was answering the best she could--even though the ED is yours, I think by HIPAA laws, the nurse isn't allowed to tell you much until the retrieval...I know that will probably drive you nuts but hang in there!!! Only a little bit longer and the eggos will be retrieved and you will have allll the info you ever wanted!
