Wow - we are actually doing this

I just got the call from my nurse. My donor came in today. Everything looked good and she is starting stims tonight, and I'm starting the estrogen. Wow. Last time, this is where everything got canceled with my other donor. After a month of taking bcps and shooting myself with lupron, I was told her estradiol level was too high to proceed. Now, three months later, I'm here at the same point with my new donor, but this time we've been given the green light to proceed. So, I guess I'm excited and a little scared - this is starting to feel very real!

I took the day off of work today for a little vacation day and spent the morning at the pool. It must have been mommy day at the pool - or I guess that's what mommies do, but everyone there was either pregnant, chasing a toddler or holding a baby. The nice thing about our pool - the part we love - is that there are three pools, and one is adults only, so no screaming, splashing kids allowed. That's where we always hang out, but to get there you have to walk through the craziness of the main pool. Today it was so weird seeing all those moms and thinking maybe next year I might just be one of them. It just seems so incomprehensible to my brain that I could actually be one of them, that I could join their "club." Usually, I find myself walking through as quickly as I can, dodging children and thinking mean thoughts about all the moms I pass. Today, I have to admit, I looked at them through different eyes, but I still can't really imagine actually being one of them. Guess we'll see how the next couple of weeks go...

Well, get ready 'cause I think next year you're going to be one of them!

How exciting to really get rolling! I can't believe the mixup with your credit card - I would be furious.

I still find myself feeling like an outsider around the other moms - like they know secret mom information I don't have! But hopefully you will be in the "club" next year, and you'll have all the answers (maybe now they give out handbooks...)

Hey there, I found you through cyclesista.

I'm glad to hear that everything is going well with your donor. And I hope we can all join "the club" real soon.

Best wishes with your upcoming cycle!
